10 Ways To Increase Your Energy At Home

Whether you working at the office, caring for the family or even just trying to get a few things done around the house, it can be tiring! On top of that it can be even harder to try and increase your own energy to do a few extra things during each day. Luckily, thereare a few simple things you can do to increase your personal energy and make your home feel more lively! It won’t take much before you’re feeling that extra spring in your step.   1. Going Green: You may not think much of house plants, but did you know that they can help you feel more energized? Indoor house plants work at clearing the air in your home and removing as many pollutants  as possible. By having clean air rotating through the home, your overall body and home will feel a slight increase in energy. Some great plant options include: Aloe, Lavender and Jasmine plants.
  2. Stretch Session: Try to set aside a few minutes each day and give your body the stretch it deserves! Stretching has been known to loosen pressure on joints, help fight against fatigue and also is a great option for relieving stress. Even if you only have a few minutes, a few stretches can go along way for your body and energy levels.
  3. Water: Drinking water is one of the most important things we can do to help keep our energy up. Try and set water goals throughout the day to make sure you are staying hydrated. By doing this you will be helping yourself fight against the effects of tiredness and your body will benefit from proper water intake.
  4. Power Snooze: Are you finding yourself tired regardless of how much sleep and rest you get? Sometimes during a busy time, we forget to give ourselves the rest we need. It has been suggested that just a mere 10-20 minute nap will help you feel more refreshed and will not effect your sleep cycle at night!   5. Fresh Air: Whether you’re at home or in the office, the key to feeling refreshed and alert is to bring fresh air into your space. If possible, open as many windows and doors as you can to get fresh air flowing through the space. If you aren’t able to bring fresh air to yourself, then try to step outside a few times a day to get as much outside air as possible.
  6. Chocolate: Did you know that chocolate contains a small amount of caffeine that can give you a boost mid way through your day? This is not to say you should eat an entire bar for lunch, but having a quick chocolate snack could be beneficial! Have a small piece of preferably dark chocolate, when your feeling your most tired (usually about 3pm) for a body boost for the rest of the day!
  7. Organized Space: One big factor when it comes to making yourself and your home feel more energized is to get organized. If you can take 5 minutes everyday to put scattered items back in there place, you might just notice how much better your space feels. Creating and keeping up with this habit will also help you clean the house in record time.
  8. Exercise: It may not be your favorite part of the day, but getting a little exercise can really make all the difference when it comes to increasing energy. It’s been said that even 10-20 minutes of light exercise can help make you feel less tired over all. So, make that little bit of time and get outside for a walk or even do some jumping jacks and squats to get your heart rate moving!
  9. Socialize: If you can believe it, you can feel just that little more energized if you can get social for a few minutes during the day. So whether you are chatting with your co workers or catching up with a friend on the phone, allow yourself that time as it will help you feel good in the long run.
  10. Careful With Coffee: Caffeine may give you that extra boost instantly but in the long run it could be effecting your overall energy. Try to consume any and all caffeine early in the day to avoid it messing up your sleep and energy cycle. If you are craving a warm drink at night, consider decaffeinated options or a cup of herbal tea.
