Homemade Potato Chips
When hunger hits, it can be really difficult to find a good option for a snack. This can be especially hard when you are trying to eat healthy, as pre-packaged snacks can be so tempting and easy to grab! A great and simple way to avoid those packaged snack items is to make your own version! Specifically, we are talking about delicious and crunchy potato chips, one of the most popular snack foods around the world. - Olive Oil
- Start by slicing your potatoes into 1/8 slices or as thinly as possible. Lay them on a paper towel and try to remove as much moisture as possible.
- Preheat the oven to 400°. While the oven is preheating, toss the potatoes in a light coating of olive oil. After tossing, season lightly and toss for even coverage.
- Lay the chips on a baking sheet in a single layer so they will cook evenly and crisp. Bake the chips for about 10-15 minutes or until they start to become crispy and golden brown. Remove them from the oven and season immediately.
- You can now either transfer them onto a cooling rack to get them extra crispy or transfer them onto a paper towel lined dish and serve!
