5 Ways To Have A Safe Halloween This Year
As we reach the end of October, things start to get extra spooky in our neighborhoods and you start to see costumes almost everywhere you look. That can only mean one thing, Halloween is right around the corner! Whether you decide to take the kids out trick or treating, attend a local celebration or stay curled up at home next to your Valor Fireplace, safety is the number one concern. Check out the 5 ways below to have a safe and happy Halloween this year:
- Find A Buddy: No matter what your plan is for the night, make sure you have a group or a buddy before you head out. If you have young trick or treater’s heading out, make sure they have an adult or older family member or friend with them to keep everyone safe and on track for the evening. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement and lose members of your group, so make sure to exchange contact info before leaving the house!
- Don’t Forget Lights: With the clocks changing, it means it starts getting dark much earlier in the evening. Make sure before you head out for the night that you have some sort of light or reflective gear on yourself or your group members. Consider bringing any of the following: glow stick, reflective patch, flashlights etc. This is especially important for little goblins or ghosts who may not be easy to see in a dark costume at night while trick or treating.
- Start Time: If you will be heading out for the night, try to leave early in the evening for ideal conditions. Whether you’re heading to a party or just heading down the street, everything will be extra busy on the sidewalks and roads with neighbors and friends trying to get to there respective events. The earlier you can get out for the night, the better as you will avoid the rush and have safe travels!
- Common Sense: Last but not least, use your common sense on busy nights like Halloween. Whether that means keeping an eye out for the little trick or treater’s in your area or getting yourself safely to and from a party, smart and safe sense will be the most important key to having a great Halloween night!
Whatever you decide to do, we wish you a safe and happy Halloween from everyone at Valor Fireplaces. Also, don’t forget to warm up at the end of your night next to your Valor Fireplace. For more information, please visit us here.
