Can you believe that we’re a mere two weeks from the first day of Spring? Most of us have had a tough winter in terms of weather, so most are looking forward to the flowers blooming and the sun shining once again. However, before we get to spring we have to get ourselves and our home ready for its arrival. These few simple ideas can make the arrival of spring that much more exciting and can really help your home get a jump-start on a new season.
Check out the 3 things you can do for your home this March:
- Air It Out: One thing that most people forget about is that we don’t really get a chance to air out our home over the winter. Between the cold temperatures and harsh weather, it can be easy to close everything up and keep warm. But now that the weather is changing slightly and we head into spring, it’s time to air everything out. Open up the doors and windows on a warmer day and let the fresh air run through the house and move out any left over air or germs. This is also a great time to air out any heavy bedding, linens or other items you may have been using frequently over the winter.
- Updates & Changes: If your starting to get the bug for redecorating or updating, now is a great time to do it. Take the next few weeks to plan out what needs a little face lift whether it’s in or outside the house. This is a great time to throw a new coat of paint up on the walls, store away any winter decor and exchange it with spring colors and patterns. Also any small repairs that you have been waiting on, finish those up now so when spring arrives you’ll be ready to enjoy it!
- Outdoor Prep: Last but not least, don’t forget about your outdoor space! As the weather warms up, you may find yourself out on your deck or in your backyard more so it might as well be ready to go. This is a great time to prep your garden for any planting you may want to do in the following months. Also, it’s a great time to get your patio furniture dusted off and cleaned so it’s ready to use when the sun makes its official appearance.
