- Vinegar: This is a great option for cleaning on the go or when you don’t have a ton of time. Fill a spray bottle with pure white vinegar and use it as your wood cutting board cleaning solution. Simply spray it on, let it soak for 5-8 minutes, give it a quick scrub and rinse with cold water. For extra impact, layer on baking soda after spraying with vinegar and let the mixture sit for the same amount of time.
- Lemon: A lemon is a great option for cleaning your wood cutting boards as it will remove the smell and any germs. Simply cut a lemon in half and rub it face down over the entire board to clean and deodorize your cutting board. Follow up with a cold water rinse to remove any leftovers. If you need a bit of a harder scrub, add salt to the lemon before scrubbing to give you a bit of help.
- Salt: Last but not least, salt is the perfect ingredient to help you with cleaning your cutting boards in a flash. Simply make a paste of salt, baking soda and warm water and apply it directly to the surface of your board. Give your board a deep scrub and rinse with cold water to leave it looking like new!
