When hunger hits, it can sometimes be challenging to find a good option for a snack. Especially if you are craving a salty, crunchy snack that you don’t have on hand at the moment.

To solve this problem, why not make a portable snack at home with a few simple ingredients. We have a great recipe to make homemade potato chips without making a trip to the store; keep reading below to create your potato chips today:


  • Potatoes
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt


  1. Start by slicing your potatoes into 1/8 slices or as thinly as possible. Lay them on a paper towel and try to remove as much moisture as possible.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°. While the oven is preheating, toss the potatoes in a light coating of olive oil.  After tossing, season lightly and toss for even coverage.
  3. Lay the chips on a baking sheet in a single layer so they will cook evenly and crisp. Bake the chips for about 10-15 minutes or until they start to become crispy and golden brown. Remove them from the oven and season immediately.
  4. You can now either transfer them onto a cooling rack to get them extra crispy or transfer them onto a paper towel-lined dish and serve!
