Are you thinking about what the summer season might look like at your home? If you are considering an outdoor fireplace to extend the time spent in your outdoor area, we answered some burning questions you may consider before making your purchase.
Q: What level of heat can I expect from my Valor Outdoor Fireplace?
A: A Valor gas fireplace will provide you with efficient, radiant heat indoors or outdoors. Radiant heating technology is widely regarded as the most comfortable, healthiest and natural form of heating available. Radiant heat is based on the primary source of heat we have – the sun.
Q: Can I schedule or control how long my outdoor fireplace is on?
A: Power your fireplace on and off, or adjust flame settings with the convenient wall switch. A remote control is not recommended for outdoor use.
Q: What maintenance will my outdoor fireplace need?
A: General cleaning of the glass, front and accessories is recommended. For more information on cleaning and maintenance, please click here.
Additionally, we recommend decommissioning your outdoor fireplace during the off-season when it will not be used for an extended period. Decommission your fireplace by removing the batteries from the battery holder and turning the gas shut-off valve to the “off ” position. Upon ensuring the fireplace cannot be turned on, you can apply a protective weather cover over the front of the fireplace to help preserve the finish and further protect the appliance from the weather.
Q: Are there any restrictions when installing outdoors?
A: When adapting a Valor gas fireplace or specified gas fireplace insert with the Valor outdoor conversion kit, there are several things to consider. Ensure that the fireplaces are installed in a weatherproof enclosure with the minimum overhang and must be situated to a fixed piping system. Additionally, a wall switch (RBWSK or 1265WSK) will be required to control the unit.
